The Graduate Management Admission Test® (GMAT®) is a standardized test conducted by the Graduate Management Admission Council of the Educational Testing Service, ETS, US. The scores of these tests are used as one of the most important parameters by US Universities and top US B Schools in their selection process. The GMAT comprises four sections. Each of the four sections is separately timed. The first two sections of the GMAT test are collectively known as the Analytical Writing Assessment Section (GMAT AWA Section). The next two sections in the GMAT test are objective type sections, one of which is the Quantitative section and the other is the Verbal section.
  • Section 1 - Analysis of an Issue (30 min)
  • The first section in GMAT-CAT is an analytical writing task and has to be completed in the first 30 minutes. In this section, the candidate is expected to analyse an issue, take a position and support it using relevant reasons and examples from his or her own experience, observation, or reading.
  • Section 2 - Analysis of an Argument (30 min)
  • The second section in GMAT-CAT is also an assesment of analytical writing skills and is to be completed during the next 30 minutes. In this task, the candidate has to analyse how logically persuasive the argument presented in the question is?
  • Section 3 - Quantitative Section (75 min) - 37 questions
  • This section (Quantitative) consists of multiple-choice questions delivered in a computer-adaptive format. Questions in this sections are dynamically selected as you take the test. Therefore, your test will be unique, and the multiple-choice questions will adjust to your ability level. A total of 37 questions are served in this section and comprise two types of questions within this section viz., Problem Solving and Data Sufficiency.
  • Section 4 - Verbal Section (75 min) - 41 questions
  • The last section in GMAT - CAT is the Verbal section. This one is also a multiple-choice section delivered in a computer-adaptive format. There are three types of questions in this section viz., Reading Comprehension, Sentence Correction and Critical Reasoning.
At the end of the GMAT test, you will be given an unofficial score for the third and fourth section (i.e. the multiple choice Quantitative and Verbal sections). The official GMAT scores that include your performance in the Analytical Writing Assessment will be sent by mail to you a few weeks after you have taken the GMAT test.

The scores in the quant section and the verbal section of the GMAT test are cumulatively graded and represented on a scale of 200 to 800. Your performance in the GMAT AWA sections are rated on a scale of 1 to 6.

The Graduate Management Admission Test® (GMAT®) is a standardized test that helps B Schools evaluate calibre of candidates who apply for higher studies in business and management. Business schools employ the GMAT test as one of the parameters for judging future academic performances of applicants in an MBA or in other graduate management programs.

The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT®) comprises four sections. Each of the four sections is individually timed. The first two sections comprise a written analysis task. The next two sections (Quantitative and Verbal) consist of multiple-choice questions delivered in a computer-adaptive format. The GMAT measures basic verbal, mathematical, and analytical writing skills that you have developed in the course of your education and work.

The mechanics behind GMAT - CAT
The multiple-choice questions of the GMAT test is drawn from a large pool ranging from a low to moderate to high level of difficulty. Each section of the test starts with a question of moderate difficulty. If you answer that question correctly, the computer will throw a harder question next. If you answer the first question incorrectly, the second one will be easier. This process will continue until you complete the section. At the end of the section, the GMAT-CAT software will have an accurate assessment of your ability in that subject area.

In a computer-adaptive test, only one question is presented at a time. As the GMAT test adapts to your performance in the previous question(s), it does not allow you to skip, return to, or change your responses to previous questions. It is therefore, extremely important to double check before confirming your choice for any question. How to register for the GMAT Test? Online registration to take the GMAT Test in the US, Canada, Puerto Rico and other major international test locations is possible. You can register online by visiting the official GMAT site.

Computer based GMAT test can be taken in the following test centers in the US, Canada and Peurto Rico. Please take care to note the type of test center at the location that you have chosen. The type of test center will determine what kind of GMAT test you will take and how you register for the GMAT test. Some of these test centers are permanent test centers, some are mobile and some others are supplementary test centers and are denoted by a P, M or S next to the test location.

Permanent and mobile test locations offer Computer Based Tests, while supplementary test centers offer paper based tests. In most places, you will be able to schedule an appointment for taking the GMAT test using one of the four options - by online, by phone, by mail, or by fax. Register Early

Depending upon the time of the year and the location of your choice, availability of seats in the test location of your choice will vary widely. It is in your interest to schedule an appointment at the earliest. You will have to call up your Regional Registration Center (RRC) to schedule an appointment. After ETS or the respective RRC receives your registration and processes it, it will send an authorization voucher to you confirming your appointment to take the GMAT. How to cancel or reschedule a GMAT appointment? If you had been able to schedule your GMAT appointment online, then you will be able to reschedule or cancel the GMAT appointment online. Otherwise, you will have to reschedule or cancel your appointment by phone, by mail or by fax. The details are given at the official GMAT website.

You must reschedule your test appointment on or before seven calendar days before your scheduled appointment. ETS / RRC charges a rescheduling fee of U.S. $50 for each appointment you reschedule. Also note that appointments cannot be rescheduled for a date that is more than one year after the original appointment date. If you cancel your test on or before seven days from the scheduled date of appointment, you will get a partial refund. At present, the refund is US $ 80. However, if you do not cancel on or before seven calendar days, the entire fees will be forfeited.

+IELTS

IELTS:

The IELTS test has two forms: the Academic test (or module) and the General Training test (or module). The module that you take depends on the reason that you are taking it for. Generally speaking, the Academic Module is for those people who are trying to gain entry onto undergraduate or postgraduate education courses or for professional reasons. The General Training Module is for those people who wish to join some kinds of vocational or training courses, secondary schools or for immigration purposes.
Both Academic and General Training modules try and reflect real life situations to test whether a candidate would survive in English speaking social and academic environments. This would test General Training candidates to see if they could give a "work related presentation" to fellow work colleagues and would test Academic candidates if they can give a "university style presentation" to fellow students. It tests whether candidates have the English language capability to perform these tasks under some kind of pressure.
The IELTS test (both Academic and General Training modules) is divided into four parts: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The listening and speaking tests are exactly the same for the Academic and General Training modules but the reading and writing tests are different. Thus the test appears like this (in the order that you will take the different parts):

+BBA-BBM

BBA-BBM

The Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) is a bachelor's degree in commerce and business administration . In most universities, the degree is conferred upon a student after four years of full-time study (120 credit hours) in one or more areas of business concentrations; see below. The BBA program usually includes general business courses and advanced courses for specific concentrations. Alternative degree titles include Bachelor of Science in Business Administration (BSBA), Bachelor in Management and Organizational Studies, Bachelor in Management Studies (BMS), Bachelor of Business Management (BBM), Bachelor of Business (BBus), and Bachelor of Business Studies (BBS).

Though, the course of BBA is offered by major of the colleges as well as Universities in India but only few can meet the demanding needs of the Indian market. Colleges such as NSHM, that have extensively developed its infrastructure as well as teaching staff, are now trying to improve their area of interest and trying to give more to the admitted candidates. Also, there are number of private colleges as well as Universities that are offering the course of BBA. There are few esteemed Universities such as Delhi University, Birla Institute of Technology, Siikim Manipal University and Pune University that are offering the BBA course at par excellence. These institutes have state of the art infrastructure including a separate teaching staff, departmental archives, and related things that are totally dedicated for the upliftment of this course.

The students who were unavailable to secure an extremely important position in the entrance exam of B.Tech or MBBS can also join this course and full fill there desired dreams. Some of the colleges in Delhi University are considered as the best place to study BBA in India. These colleges have extensively dedicated department for the teaching of this course and that is why only the best ranked candidates are eligible to study within these Institutes.

Apart from the above mentioned colleges as well as Universities, we can also mention the likes of Mumbai University and Annamalai University that are also offering this course for the low ranking individuals. These colleges also have the state of the art infrastructure.

Law Careers

A law degree can open the door to a wide variety of careers. Lawyers play an important role in society through the practice of law, which encompasses a multitude of activities. A strong education in law school also provides the ability to pursue employment opportunities outside of the legal profession in areas such as politics and business. Types of Legal Practice

The practice of law takes several forms. The ways in which lawyers apply their expertise can be broadly categorized into the following practice types:
  • Private Practice: involves working alone or with partners in a firm to provide legal services to clients (individuals or corporations); some lawyers specialize in one or more practice areas while others engage in general practice.
  • Public Interest Law: serves low-income individuals, marginalized groups and social causes; practitioners may work for advocacy groups, legal aid clinics and other organizations with the goal of advancing an interest of the public.
  • Government Counsel: governments hire lawyers for legal advice and representation; lawyers directly employed by the government may work for ministries, government agencies and crown corporations.
  • Corporate Counsel: corporations can employ lawyers as in-house counsel; an in-house counsel works for a single company to advise on legal matters related to its business activities.

Practice Areas (Specializations)

The law impacts our lives in numerous ways, so naturally the legal profession covers many fields and allows for a variety of law careers. There are many types of lawyers - some practice in all areas of the law, while others choose to specialize. Here are some areas of specialization in law:
  • Administrative: branch of public law dealing with the relationship between individuals and the government; regulates the power of governmental administrative agencies and ensures fair implementation and administration of laws.
